Eco Lips First to Market with Fair Trade Certified™ Organic Baobab Oil

1 min read

We are excited to announce that the Organic Baobab Oil in our GOLD Lip Balm is now Fair Trade Certified™!

Sourced from Zimbabwe, Africa, baobab is known as the ‘tree of life’ as it traditionally has provided food, shelter and textiles to the locals for thousands of years. The fruit is harvested by hand – knocked off the tree when it is dried. The shells are cracked open exposing the white fruit pulp which contains the seeds. The oil is then pressed from the seeds.

Baobab oil has a beautiful balance of palmedic, oleic and linoleic fatty acids that make it a great skin care oil. It absorbs quickly into the skin and is non-greasy.

"We have been using baobab oil in our best-selling GOLD lip balm because of its wonderful skin care properties. It is exciting to be the first company to launch a Fair Trade Certified™ baobab oil product in the market, but more importantly it gives us peace of mind that the workers in Zimbabwe are getting paid a fair wage and have safe working conditions when harvesting the oil." Jane Merten, Vice President Sales & Marketing

Our Organic Gold lip balm is the go-to, no-fail lip balm for those who constantly battle dry, chapped and irritated lips. Pure Gold. Pure Satisfaction.
