Essential Lip Care Routine

2 min read

Lip care is an extremely important part of health and beauty routines. Get your lips looking smooth and hydrated with these simple steps!

Step 1: If you have any makeup on, take it off with a gentle makeup removal wipe. This will help get all of the product off without the tough scrubbing and irritation of a scratchy towel.

Step 2: EXFOLIATE. Exfoliation is key in getting soft, smooth, and supple lips. There are lip exfoliation products out there, such as Eco Lips Organic Lip Scrub, that take natural ingredients, like sugar, and use it to scrub off all of the dead skin cells on your lips. To exfoliate, take a small amount of the lip scrub in your finger and massage it onto your lips in circular motions, do that until you’ve exfoliated both the top and bottom lips. You should only exfoliate about once a week to avoid dryness and brittleness.

Step 3: Apply a moisturizing lip balm. A common effect of lip scrub is dry lips, and nobody wants that, so lather it on and let your lips absorb the balm for five minutes before applying another product to get the most effective hydration. For the best moisturizing effect look for lip balms with sunflower or almond base oils.

Our coconut oil and cocoa butter-based organic lip balms will leave your lips feeling smooth, relieve any itchiness or burning, and provide your lips with essential vitamins.

Step 4: PROTECT YOUR LIPS. Your lips are vulnerable to sun and wind damage! Protect them with a lip balm containing at least SPF 15 to avoid harmful UV rays. Our Broad Spectrum Zinc lip balm protects your lips (and the reefs!) to keep your lips protected and safeguarded during your summer outdoor activities.

Step 5: Recondition your lips. Just like you recondition your hair, it's important to with lips as well. An Overnight Lip Mask contains highly nutritive and effective oils and butters to restore overnight - go to bed with chapped, dry lips and wake up with soft, supple lips. A must-have item for your bedside table.

Voila! Your recipe to beautiful, healthy lips! So get out there and #KissTheWorld!

Additional tips for healthy lips

  1. Do not pick at your lips. This will only cause them to bleed, dry out more, and cause you discomfort! Instead apply a moisturizing lip balm and let it work its magic.
  2. Do not lick your dry lips. Licking your lips might provide temporary relief, but it does much more harm than good. The saliva will evaporate quickly on your lips and leave them even drier than before. For extremely dry lips try spreading Aloe over them to soothe.
  3. Look at your lip balm label. Any lip balms with unidentifiable ingredients such as methylparaben, petroleum or any other confusing chemicals should be strictly avoided as they can dry out your lips. For the best results, look for balms with all natural & organic ingredients.
