The term “organic” can only be used on products that are grown and produced without pesticides, and other harmful chemicals. Products that host the USDA Organic Seal are produced under the high standards set forth by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. There is no legal definition of what the term “natural” means.

Natural foods can include organic foods, but not all natural foods are organic. Look for products with the USDA Organic seal and you'll be making the right choice for your health and the environment.

We do not test our products on animals and our suppliers have all verified that no animal testing has been performs on our ingredients.

Eco Lips Bee Free® is made with a plant wax called Candelilla wax instead of bees wax.

Eco Lips Gold is best “all around” lip balm.  It is unscented and designed for all day everyday use, and formulated to rapidly heal chapped lips.

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. Sunscreens are labeled with a number. This number is a multiple that compares your skin's vulnerability to burning with and without sunscreen.

For example, if your sunscreen is SPF 15, it will take you 15 times as much sun exposure to get sunburned as compared to wearing no sunscreen at all.

Oils and butters derived from nuts that we use in our facility include: almond oil, Brazil nut oil, mongongo oil, coconut oil, hazelnut oil, macadamia nut oil and shea nut butter.

We follow good manufacturing practices (GMP guidelines) for our production cleaning processes to prevent cross contamination. We are not officially GMP certified though so can not 100% guarantee you won’t have a nut reaction if you have severe allergies.

Here is our best suggestion to removing lip balm from clothing:

  1. Soak clothing in boiling water with detergent. Repeat until the stain is removed.
  2. Set washing machine to high heat and wash with detergent.

Our lip balms and lip scrubs have a 3 year shelf life.

Look for the lot code (born date) on the bottom of the lip balm tube. We lot code according to Julien date. Example: 14-024 is the year 2014 and the 24th day of that year. January 24th.

Yes, all of our products are gluten free.

It is sunflower derived. It is GMO free

No, our beeswax is pure and has not been mixed with lanolin. We do not use lanolin in our lip balms.

There are some instances where people react to lip balm and most commonly it’s from:


Propolis in the beeswax. Propolisis a resinous mixture that honey bees produce by mixing saliva and beeswax with exudate (substance secreted by plants) gathered from tree buds, sap flows, or other botanical sources. It is used as a sealant for unwanted open spaces in the hive. Sensitivity to peppermint essential oil.

Non-Nano means its size is such that it will sit atop the skin and is not small enough to be absorbed through the skin. Greater than 100 Nanometers in particle diameter.
